My name is Antonio Rivera, but I am better known as Tony or Tonio. I have lived in Raleigh, NC for thirty years, home was NYC before the present era.
I am a visual artist, formally trained in the figure and painting, though I do not consider myself a painter (a craft I practice rarely if at all) as my beloved medium is drawing. My choice of not painting is that color as an expressive means and the literal textures of paints have held little interest for me, when I prefer or consider the tonal ranges of light to dark and the implied textures I can create by other means more expressive.
I have many other interest, being an accomplished wood worker, photographer (b/w film) silver smith, gem stone cutter, sculptor and writer (usually on art and related subjects).
Am far more interested in establishing dialogues than in keeping a running journal of my routines. I invite others to engage with me.
